Latourell Falls Loop via Historic Columbia River Highway
Overview
This is a easy-to-moderate loop trail to Latourell Falls and Upper Latourell Falls in Guy W. Talbot State Park.
The trail begins with a short climb to a viewpoint for Latourell Falls, then continues up the hill to the top of the falls and a moderate incline. The trail continues along the river until reaching Upper Latourell Falls. Both falls are extremely scenic and make for great photos. At Upper Latourell Falls, you may either turn around and go back the way you hiked in, or continue across a small wooden bridge up the trail. The loop trail winds uphill through beautiful coniferous forest and eventually descends to the highway. There is a short road walk over a bridge to return to the trailhead. Once at the trailhead, there is a short trail down to the base of the lower falls.
This trail is very popular, especially in the summer months- arrive early so you can find a parking space in the lot. Remember to leave no trace and pack out what you bring in. Leashed dogs are welcome on this trail.
Getting Started
The parking lot for Guy W. Talbot State Park is clearly marked, but on the small side. Overflow parking is found on the side of the road across the street. Park with caution. At the trailhead, there are maps and information about the park as well as bathrooms.
