Approach to North Early Winter Spire
Follow the Blue Lake Trail for more than three big switchbacks (about two miles), until you are in the meadow for the second time. At the turn off for the climbers' trail, you'll see a wooden sign attached to a tree that says "Blue Lake Tr. No. 314". The climbers' trail branches off to the left, and is marked by wooden posts with a carabiner icon on them. Follow this trail until you are in front of the west face of NEWS, almost below the gully between the EWS. You'll see an clearly worn trail that goes up the hill to the EWS.
