East Osceola-Sept 2020
We meant to hit both peaks but realized we got a late start and would run out of daylight. I’m calling this trail “The Wonky Stairway” – it is all stone stairs, but not in a good way. Killer on the knees. We started at 3pm, thinking we could make the 8 mile in and out hitting both peaks. But we barely make it back out before pitch dark at 8:30 hitting just the East peak. We could be in better shape, but this is a tough hike.
How on earth did it take me 8 hours to do 5 1/2 miles? This is pathetic. I was slow from the beginning and I couldn’t focus my eyes. Finally I took my glasses off and it was better. I was wobbly the whole way. This was a bit of a downer of a hike.
