Took the Old Fall River road, slowly passing by a lanky moose and 3 large big-horn sheep, to reach the Chapin TH. We started our 3-peak hike thru krummholtz and shrubs to reach the alpine tundra, where beautiful flowers were everywhere! Trails were not really maintained once we started up the mountains, and we frequently followed cairns up and down, scrambling over rocks, trying not to fall as we continually marveled at the stunning views. Clouds and rain tried to threaten, but we waved them away and enjoyed a windy sunny long full day of hiking. Yellow bellies marmots were so cute and very friendly, pikas greeted us everywhere, and a lone male deer walked majestically along a ridge, turning towards us every now and then to say hello. Great hike!! Thanks Danielle!!
