Shenandoah National Park - Hawksbill via Lower Hawksbill Trail
This is the highest point in the Shenandoah National Park. Since I was in the area after a 21 mile backpacking trip, I thought I would knock this summit off the list. But to make it easier I shed the backpack. My dad accompanied me up this short, but steep trail to the top. Excellent views of the park from the top. There is also a day use shelter.
Hawksbill mtn
Over 4000 but we didn't start at zero! Steady upward incline made for a nice, quick descent. The view from the top was expansive.
