A good day hike on a popular well-maintained and well-marked trail with good views. Very little shade, steep in parts but not relentless. $10 to park at Lake Poway, they have consessions there. Have someone take your photo on Potato Chip Rock when you get to the top. Its unique.

Best to start this hike early in the morning when the gates open at 6am, also make sure you have plenty of water, the climb up may seem endless but once you get to the top the views are amazing and are worth the climb. Also would recommend sunscreen cause there is little to no shade.
