This 250 mile section of trail spans from Fall River Mills to Lake Tahoe's shores. It's certainly one of the longer sections of the Pacific Crest Route, and encompasses a variety of terrain. Drivers can expect narrow and rocky trails in some sections, as well as fast and smooth forest roads. Highlights include shelf roads through burn areas, water front campgrounds, narrow bridges, and of course Lake Tahoe. Many sections of trail may be closed in winter, so be sure to check road conditions before departing.
