Red Rock Canyon NCA is one of my favorite places and so I spend a lot to time (scrambling, rappelling and just being in nature) there. In my opinion there is never a bad outing in RR. This route was a bit different in that it started in Red Springs Parking lot which if you did not know is outside/exit just before the scenic loop. In fact you could cut off ~1.5 miles on each end of this hike if you choose to park at Kraft Mtn parking lot vs. Red Springs. The route took me on Girl Scout trail to get to the West side of Kraft Mtn Loop (ascend first part of route) onto Hell Hill trail to Rattlesnake trail to Ash Canyon trail that reconnects to Girl Scout back to parking lot. Once on Hell Hill and Rattlesnake trail it becomes very beautiful, serene and lovely. Again it was a great day with a lot of variety and I would rate it overall Moderate for the climb up Kraft Mtn Loop west trail and the rocky terrain in Rattlesnake. Go, you will surely enjoy it (but bring lots of water).
