This is a beautiful but challenging trail that this very well marked. As a reasonably fit hiker, with good experience on rough terrain, I would say that this hike is slower than expected. There is lots of picking your way across rock slide paths, rooted trails, etc. We took ~4.5 h each way with overnight packs from the P2 parking lot, 9 km each way. The lake was beautiful and offers a very rewarding swim. ~7-8 groups were camped at the lake, and it didn't feel too crowded. We did encounter 3 underground wasp nests on the trail, with lots of stings. Bugs were too bad otherwise (Aug 21). I probably wouldn't do it again, but was glad to have done it.
