Elevation is11,100 foot at summit. 1,700 foot climb. Very hard for me in the beginning. Donna and Angela. A cold windy day, probably in upper 20s or low 30s. A great hike! So many flowers. Globe flower and marsh marigolds in the lower forest wet areas. We went back down horse trail in the forest so made a loop. Alpine buttercups, lupine, spring beauties, potentilla, paint brush, sky pilot (polonium viscosum) parsley, silky phacelia, pink louse wort,(Pedicularis cystopteridifolia) forget me not, a small bird nest dug in ground with 6 dark brown eggs, Pygmy bitterroot (lewisia pygmaea), fleabane aster, alpine avens(yellow)
