St Vrain Trail

Started off early, before 6:30 am. Sunny morning, bright blue skies, no clouds. Beautiful aspen groves early on, with several small streams to cross and so many wildflowers to photograph. Long slow trek up to the windy summit, stopping to take pictures of ptarmigan and columbine. Had a short break behind a stone shelter to eat snack, explored some more of the peak, then headed down the mountain. Thunder and dark clouds followed us down, with 2 bouts of hail and some steady rain. Fabulous hike overall. So much fun with Danielle and Kim. 😊
