Sand Run Metro Park - Dogwood Trail & Nuthatch Trail
Note that Nuthatch Trail used to be named “Mingo Trail.” A very nice hike with some heart-pumping elevation changes. The elevation change was more strenuous on the Dogwood Trail loop. The mosquitos were prevalent today and frequently swarmed around me, but the repellant lotion appears to have done its job and kept them from biting me. Winnie had a hard time in the hot, humid weather today. The Nuthatch Trail has a short extension at the end (a sign indicated it was about 0.72 miles round trip), which we did not do to ensure that Winnie could finish. It would be worth exploring that next time. The adjacent Sieberling Realm trails also seem worth exploring except that dogs are not permitted.
With Winnie.
