This is Day 3 of the 5 day Brazeau Backpack. It was a brisk lake crossing but totally doable. Water was down a bit from night before. Despite cloudy water, could see the ground. Across in no time. Went in our underwear as we were first and didn't know how deep it was. Bushwack to trail was in great shape. Trail to John-John was mostly treed, with a few good looks at Flattop and Le Grand Brazeau. Once past the campground, the views were epic! Stopped for lunch below the pass because it was so stunning. Pass was very nice, on a good trail. Little black biting bugs! Drop into Jonas Cutoff was steep but doable. Several bridge crossings, and said goodbye to Le Grand Brazeau valley. Campground is long and skinny, with a Triple Throne outhouse... Only in Jasper. The creek is gorgeous! Washed clothes and got totally washed up.
