Powder Canyon to Skyline/Anza/Schabarum Loop, La Habra Heights, CA
On a cool day when the flowers (predominantly mustard weed) are still blooming and the grasses are still green, this is a great hike, but can be hot and exposed when it gets warmer. Mustard plants were towering 10 feet over the narrower portions of trail at times, so if you're claustrophobic or afraid of bees, I don't recommend it, but my dog and I had a great time. Even saw a rattlesnake at the end! You can get a printable map here: http://www.habitatauthority.org/newsite/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/map-Powder-Canyon-2012.pdf
Only two confusing spots on the trail. The turnoff marked as Schabarum/Anza from Powder Canyon on the map is actually marked Skyline Trail on the trail sign, and on the final descent down Schabarum towards Fullerton Road, you want to take an unmarked right turn towards the power poles rather than heading straight down a narrowing path---at least if you want to connect back to the Powder Canyon Parking Lot.
