This was a great experience, being able to get up close with ruins and no crowds. I hiked the road portion. The canyon portion was harder to follow. I find cairns are harder to pick out in rocky terrain-everything looks alike! There is a short "ledge" (drop) to negotiate, the worst of that being that as you sit and work your way down, your pack is pushing you forward against the rock behind you. Coming back up is easier. The ruins are in good shape, artwork well preserved. There are signs posted asking you not go into the interior rooms but sadly there are plenty of modern footprints. Saw some 800 year+ old corncobs and a grinding stone. This is not a hard hike but the canyon portion is technical so attention is required.
