Great strenuous hike. Did about 12 miles, although the profile says 11, as I accidentally had the track paused for a bit. The hike from the car up to the AT wasn’t as steep as I thought. Lots of cascades. A fair amount of people passed me headed north on the AT. The AT had a fair amount of climb. Amazing wildflowers everywhere. Definitely the perfect season for them. Had lunch at an old Mr. Cammerer fire tower. Great view but hazy. It was sunny most of the day. Warm in mid afternoon. Took the low gap trail off the AT down to campsite 37. Beautiful spot. Right on the river. One other large camp group, a family, plus another couple. Both far away. The bear bag hoists are awesome. They should have them in the BWCA. Had a campfire at night. Plenty of dry wood. Fell asleep to the sound of the river.
