I have wanted to get to the conjunction of Burrawang and Barrengarry Creeks for a while. I've gone down Barrengarry above where they meet and thought I could get to the bottom via Burrawang Creek. But this time it was too steep, may have to find another way. At the top of the falls above where Burrawang Creek enters Barrengarry, someone had wanted to reach the very lip of the falls, I'd say a year or so ago. They built and left a rope ladder shown in the photos. Thin blue crappy plastic rope with loops for foot holds, tied to a tree. Crazy. Quite a few leeches about too. I decided to go back by the old track up the other side and after crossing the base of the main falls, sirens and a helicopter appeared. Apparently a lady broke her ankle, slipped and maybe fell? and was being rescued. I met 2/3 paramedics on the track coming down. A dozen rescue vehicles at the top and maybe 30 rescue staff. Many of the tourist walkers were poorly dressed for bush walking and slippery rocks. And the rubbish. I picked some up and brought it home. At the causeway, someone had tied a full plastic bag to a post and left their rubbish for someone else to remove. Very poor practice. The really good news was I found two Greenhood orchids beside the road. Several colonies had been washed away a year ago and this was a welcome sight.
