Mt. Superbus Lincoln Avro Bomber hike from Emu Creek Road
Difficult hike from Emu Creek, which has eight creek crossings to get to the parking lot. The first part of the hike is gradual grade but very hard to follow the hidden trail, follow the pink marker tapes. Gympie Gympie stinging plant all along route (large furry heart shaped leaves from small plant to 4m tall, sting is like wasp/electrocution that can last days/weeks as needle stays in. LONG sleeves/pants/gloves!). Middle section is very nicest walking, don’t miss the waterfall about 4km in, you’ll hear the water, drop down to the creek and it’s about 100m downstream. After that the route V’s and gets you lined up to take on the last 1.5km slog to the bomber. After the bomber, keep hiking up five minutes to the peak top, which has a nice camping spot. From hear you can continue onto Mt. Superbus peak, the Steamer’s peaks or Lizard Point view (most of these will be massive days or overnight). This bomber hikes averages 8-9 hours duration.
