3A. (693) Glacier Point->Little Yosemite Valley (No Donohue Pass) (Half Dome Eligible)
Though slightly longer than starting from Yosemite Valley, this is an easier and very scenic hike along the Panorama Trail to Little Yosemite Valley.
You must spend your first night at the established backpacker sites in Little Yosemite Valley. No dispersed camping in the LYV area. Bear boxes and composting toilets are available at the campground. Fires are only permitted in the established communal fire rings. Bears have obtained food from backpackers in this area. Please follow Leave No Trace outdoor ethics and help protect Yosemite Wilderness.
Glacier Point Road is closed during winter and typically opens by late May, but can open earlier or later depending on snowpack. If you make a reservation and the road is closed, your permit is not valid and there is no refund.
Half Dome available with this trailhead. All members of the permit are eligible to walk up Half Dome. Additional fees of $10 per person due when permit is issued.
Hiking over Donohue Pass and hiking the JMT is NOT available for this trailhead. You will need to select one of the Donohue Pass eligible trailheads if you wish to hike the JMT.
