Mazama Trail to Eden Park.
A perfect day for hiking up Cathedral Ridge--on the edge of the 2011 Dollar Lake Burn, under a tree canopy for most of the four miles up to the Timberline Trail, with occasional stretches of walking through burned areas of towering silver snags, blown down snags, copious pearly everlasting, and fireweed. Eden Park was like turning the clock back to May, with profuse wildflower blooms--lupine, penstemon, arnica, Indian paintbrush, valerian, asters, monkey flower, spirea, even still-blooming avalanche lilies, which had long faded everywhere else.
