This is the new 6/10ths of a mile of new trail that will be built in the Spring of 2023 by the California Conservation Corp using a California Proposition 68 grant. This new trail will bypass a long-standing unsustainable one thousand foot long 16% grade, fall-line trail that is deeply rutted by water. In 2021 a twelve year old girl was injured when her horse tripped in that rut. It will also bypass the section of 4N40 that the Arnold Rim Trail currently uses. With the completion of this project, the entirety of the Arnold Rim Trail from the Logging Museum to Fullen Road will be single track to the benefit of hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. This new 6/10ths mile of trail is simply gorgeous, passing through beautiful Sugar and Ponderosa Pine, White Fir, Incense Cedar, and Black Oak forest. The bed of native Chamaebatia foliolosa that this trail courses through is luxurious and fragrant.
