Wood Hollow Summit Metro Parks 2026 Fall Hiking Spree, Downy Loop Trail 1.2 miles—Rating: 1 (Easy) 2121 Barlow Rd., Hudson, OH 44236 Hikers on Downy Loop Trail will travel through beech-maple woods before entering an open meadow, crossing the entrance drive and returning to the parking lot. That gift of land, by a man whose family “loves the parks and the Fall Hiking Spree, but wants to remain anonymous,” led to the purchasing of several adjacent properties that brought the park’s current size to a little more than 300 acres. Visitors may see and hear a variety of native amphibians, birds, insects, mammals and reptiles in the park’s forests, wetlands and open areas. The park’s 1.2-mile Downy Trail gets its name from the small woodpeckers that are among the species inhabiting “wood hollows” in the area’s beech-maple woods. Wood Hollow Metro Park offers a wooded trail and activities for you to enjoy. The park is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., unless otherwise noted. A key to help you find the perfect trail.
