This was a lovely loop, down Johnson Road, then a short jog west on the Old Lanesville Road, then north up the Luce Trail to the "Tracks;" then east and south through Woodland Acres back to the cars on Pigeon Hill Street. The Luce Trail in this area is narrow and rugged with roots and rocks, and needed clipping and refreshing of trail markers -- which all made for slow going. The first leg of the path through Woodland Acres was closed in with grasses in spots, but still passable. The rest of the route was mostly wide and open roads. Conditions were ideal -- 60s, sunny, not too buggy. Luce Trail runs along a stream, which is usually flowing swiftly, but was pretty dry today. Small group today -- just 10 of us. Led by Monica & Phil. 2.7 miles total, with a time of 1:43. Back by noon.
