Cold start but terrific hiking conditions. Trail conditions good. This week we will travel to Pisgah past the Fish Hatchery and hike the Daniel Ridge Loop. The trail follows the Davidson River upstream with some steady climbing. The distance is 5 miles with about 1100 feet of elevation gain and is rated moderate/strenuous.
