Fast but enjoyable course - very scenic.
Super snowy, cold, and fun! We started at the main trail head rather than the freeway exit and missed heading all the way down the Tradition Lake TH but other than that it was the same course.
Finally was able to scratch this off of my to do list. Honestly, it was much easier than I had expected, although we just did the south ridge route. Somewhat long but enjoyable scramble followed by an awesome swim in Lake Melakwa.
This is a trip I had been meaning to do for a while so it was good to finally knock it out. The trip to Thorp Lake and Thorp Mountain was great and very straightforward. Finishing the loop to Little Joe Lake was fine at first but not long after you make the turn onto the Red Mountain Trail it is very exposed and sparse. Make sure you know what you are doing before heading out there because it would be easy to take a wrong turn and/or completely lose the trail. And Little Joe Lake is not really swimable so unless you want the extra miles I'd skip it.
