A punishing ascent with a few sketchy areas. Terrain is mixed snow, ice, mud, and rock with the snow and ice becoming more prevalent at 9k feet. Traction and poles are a really good idea on this trail for this time of year. There are a few old ruined miner cabins and shafts along the way.
White pine lake
An awesome late season hike before the snow gets deep. This is a longish but moderate hike. Plenty of water along the way.
Some Tracking issues here. Actual climb was about 5000 feet.
Pfeifferhorn Summit 9/9/18
A tough hike with some near-vertical sections. Views are incredible and it's worth the effort.
Fehr Lake Trail (9/3/18, 07:37:24)
I’ve been thinking about this hike for some time now. I wanted to start from Fehr Lake and circumnavigate Murdock Mountain, visiting the lakes all along its side. I got to explore most of them but a controlled burn in the area made me reconsider pushing on to the last few. I’ll probably try this again as an overnighter.
