Beautiful trail up to high pass. A bit sketchy right before high pass due to rock fall and slippery sediments. One miss step could be fatal. High pass stunning and definitely worth it. Past high pass trail gets sketchy again due to hiking down tuff and clay slopes. Further down start descent through stream valley. It’s super, super steep. Bad for knees. About halfway down there’s a teaser flatter section, but an even steeper and loner descent starts soon after. I hope to never have to do that trail again. It’s nearly vertical. No switchbacks. Once down into napequah valley the trail is fairly easy undulating but very bushy . Expect to be bush-whacked the whole way. About two miles into the valley there the junction for bolder pass where you have to ford the suiattle river. Late August 2019 this was about 3’ or less deep. Super cold! Go about 1 or 2 switch backs up and there’s fairly suitable spots to pitch a tent.
