El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve - Small Loop
Joseph D Grant County Park Loop
Hard hike in Joseph D.Grant County Park. Despite recent rains the trails were mostly dry, except for some puddles in areas poorly drained. Some of the vegetation is still brownish while the rest is green. No wild flowers or mushrooms seen, but we did see a couple of coyotes roaming the hills.
El Sereno OSP from Los Gatos
A good workout hike when one is in the area and does not have lots of time for a longer workout hike. Views were OK despite the haze and the Bay Area poor air quality alert for this hike date. Moderate hike.

Wunderlich County Park Short Loop
An easy hike in Wunderlich (San Mateo, CA) County Park, what used to be part of the Folgers Estate and stables. Steady climbs and descents. The trails were muddy from prior day's rains but are maintained fairly well. Some fallen trees across the trail, but a tree-cutting crew was at work so I expect these obstacles will be gone by the next time I hike this park. The park, next to the small (free) parking lot is the home of the Folgers Stables Chaparral at Woodside, Inc.
Marin Headlands/Sausalito Loop from Spencer St Parking
Strenuous hike with very steep climbs in a number of places. Slacker Hill is the perfect spot to sit overlooking San Francisco; the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and beyond, and to watch the Fleet Week flotilla and the Blue Angels' Air Show. Early October is the best time to see all the views with clear, cool, fall weather.
DeepSea Trail-1 Way from Mill Valley Holiday Inn Express to Stinson Beach
A hard climb on the Deepsea stairs from Old Mill Park in Mill Valley. Otherwise this hike is a moderate hike.
