I went east on Highway 2 to Peshastin and took the Derby Canyon Road several miles East to the base of the trail and parked. I rode up with another rider from Wenatchee and we had a blast coming down the ridgeline. This was my first ride here and I enjoyed it very much! The amount of technical was good and challenged me a little in spots for sure. The dirt was a little sandy but not bad. I didn't like the occasional climbing during the descent so the trail isn't one I would do often. It was a classic trail with views and payoffs for whatever technical level turns you on. It was a great day and I should have done two more laps but had a float trip to get to. Youtube videos will give you a better idea of the trail. Just search for "Xanadu Peshastin" and start clicking.
Tres Hombres 2020-08-20
The Tres Hombres trail is a very aggressive technical ridgeline at times and has wonderful views. This trail is NE of Peshastin also but don't turn right towards the Xanadu trail. Ride the loop in the clockwise direction, up on the 7401 road and down on the ridgeline. There are several side trails to explore near the top but I didn't have time for that. There are a couple tight, steep, sections and several places where you can get into a jam if you are not careful. You can see examples on Youtube (search 'Peshastin tres hombres') and can see some images and my GPS track here. The videos will help a little more though since the tight trail terrain is tough to get into the camera. The trail is dusty at times this late in the season but was a fun ride when I wasn't tensing up during the higher tech. Try it once if you're up for the challenge! :-)

Haystack Lookout 2017-11-25
Started off of Ben Howard Road and followed the road through forested areas and some steep primitive sections. Snow was washed away after recent warm storm fronts until about 3800 feet where there was about 6 inches left in the shade. There is a heated lookout under construction up there and several radio sites.

Started on the forest service road under the powerlines and then climbed all the way up the peak with the mountain bike. Had to walk a few places due to slushy snow drifts on the trail. It was a gorgeous day!
