Font's Point is an iconic location in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park providing some of the best views of the park's striking topography. This trail is more about the destination than the ride. The short, easy drive up to Font's Point follows a wide, sandy wash to a small parking area. Walk a short distance up from the parking area and the ground suddenly disappears beneath you, revealing that you're standing on the edge of a cliff face overlooking the Borrego Badlands and thousands of acres of desert. The breathtaking vista is a "must see" if you're in the area. Font's Point is one of the most popular attractions in Anza-Borrego and usually has a handful of visitors. Sunset is a great time to visit as the view is especially striking, and around dusk you'll often see a few caravans of vehicles heading to the Point. Professional photographers can often be found on Font's Point seeking to capture stunning desert shots.
Although it goes without saying, be very careful around the cliff edge at Font's Point, especially if you have pets or children. There are no guardrails or fences -- just a sudden drop-off down hundreds of feet.
