Hot, vertical climb, no wind to cool off with until the trip down...loved it though...met some nice people at the East Peak Lookout. So many people you'd think a bus just let out...and about 6 dogs.
Bloody hot and dry day...not a fun route. North side of King Mountain was nice, more wooded with redwoods and ferns. South side dry, oak and poison oak.
Moderate to strenuous trip to Ellis Peak, 8,740' from Barker Pass.
