Trail to Braunschweiger Hütte from Gletscherbahn
Long, scenic hike to Mittelberg via the Braunschweiger Hütte. The first part can be dangerous as the path leads you over the Mittelbergferner (Glacier). Then the trail follows an easy route to the Hütte. The route from the Hütte to Mittelberg is very strenuous and in some parts very steep downhill. Be cautious! You will have to use artificial stairs (ropes). The last part is a very easy road downhill.
Rifflsee Route to Mandarfen
A nice and easy hike alongside the shores of the Rifflesee. The hike starts at the cable car next to the Sonna Alm. The tracked route goes to the Riffleseehütte where you can enjoy the nice view. You then take route 926, which takes you back to Mandarfen. It's about 3hrs to do the complete hike but it can vary of course due to the number of stops you make to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Trail to Upper Joffre Lake (and back).
This beautiful trail will take you to the three Joffre Lakes. You already reach he Lower Lake after a mere 300m. From here you can already see the Matier Glacier, which forms the three lakes. The Middle Lake requires a lot more effort to reach; you will have to follow a very, in some places extreme, steep path uphill. You will then reach the Middle Joffre Lake. You then have the choice between the new (Jul. 2013) trail and the old (original) trail to Upper Joffre Lake. I would recommend taking the new trail first, this way you'll see the Joffre Falls first and the trail is a bit more easier than the original one. After another 1.5km you will reach the Upper Joffre Lake. You can either stop here and go back down again or stay at the campground. It's about 5km one-way to the Upper Joffre Lake. You can then take the original trail back down to the Middle Joffre Lake; this way you don't have to take the same route back down, thus forming a small loop.
Trail to Kinney Lake
Follow this easy and beautiful trail to Kinney Lake. You can hear and see the Robson River all the time during the trail, making it a nice walk. You can continue to hike after you have reached Kinney Lake to Berg Lake.
Trail From Kinney Lake to Trailhead
Way back to the parking lot. Expect a lot of easy, downhill sections.
