Lake James State Park is a small park on the shores of Lake James. Once you hike the trails and see the surrounding development you'll understand why it was so important to protect some of the shoreline. These trails include a loop hike and two other "out and back" trails to nice viewing platforms of the lake. When hiking to the Lake Channel Overlook, stay to the right when you get to the campground. All trails are well maintained and easy to follow.
