This is my top hike in Vilas County that is alongside a lake. It doesn’t loop around the lake, but it does loop around a peninsula on the lake so most of the time you are hiking and on one side of you as the lake and on the other side is a forest. There is elevation change and the path is well marked and the views are spectacular.
