Mostly a smooth (sandy but firm) road but rougher with downed to trees across it closer to the top. Steep narrow and brushy singletrack at the end. Great views along the way and at the top. Saw a nice variety of wildflowers along the way. Much of the road is very open so I wouldn’t hike it on a hot day. It seemed lightly used: occasional bicyclists, horses and hikers. We only saw one other person up there on a Wednesday in June.

Take path to the right after the bridge. Starts out flat and heads up quickly along the river. Many larches on return loop. Do in October!

The caves under the west side of Bible rock were really cool. Both rocks are incredible giant slabs of sandstone.

January 20,2023 Snow was frozen but wore snowshoes anyway. 15* when we started at 8am. Enjoyed our time alone as we saw no one else. Little fresh powder would have been nice. Would do again.

grain of salt: it was my first summit, ever. 37 and feeling accomplished.
it was cloudy. and snowy. we basically hiked up into a pile of fog.
and yet! it was an excellent hike, challenging without being painful, and a great way to spend time with the 10 folx in the mountaineering course (with Ascent Fitness).
we hiked to Iron Peak. i would love to return and get up Teanaway Peak, a bit more technical of a climb.
