Lost the trail quite a few times, lots of bush whacking and too many little cactus for my poor dog. It is pretty though.

One of my favorite hikes in the Escalante area. Did the trail north to south. 58 total water crossings, ranging from ankle deep to halfway up the thigh. Northern half of the trail had a lot of blowdowns and overgrowth to deal with, but that can be expected since most people only do the southern half. Amazing scenery and great variety over the course of the 9.2 miles.

Significant down climb. Very dry; bring plenty of water. We didn’t see water for the first 10 miles and no flow until just before sulphuric springs
