This campsite rates very high on my list, holding its own to the Quartz Lake sites in Glacier NP (obviously quite different). The views are ridiculous, mountains in mexico, flanked by 2 canyons, fun off roading to get here…hard to beat. Did it in a stock 4Runner but glad I had installed an aftermarket skid plate for this trip, as it was getting hit.

Beautiful camp with no people anywhere near. Be ready if it’s windy, there’s nothing blocking the wind from a couple of directions. The trail to get there was fun, with some near obstacles. We were in a stock 4Runner and banged our aftermarket skid plate a fair amount.

Big Bend Ultra 20K route. Rocky, lots of arroyos and up/down. Could be easy to get lost so be sure to download the route.

Beautiful but challenging. Ascents and descents are steep with some unstable surfaces. Spring access at about 7 mile intervals at Casa Resa and Rancherias springs, check Warnock park visitors center for current information. Trail is marked with cairns - does not precisely match Gaia track.

Beautiful hike! Ojito is to BBRSP what Cattail Falls is to the National Park.

Big Bend State Park is a fantastic place to ride horses. Bring plenty of water with you for your horse. Plenty to see along the way
