Overview

Cowan's Gap State Park is a 1,082 acre state park in Pennsylvania located in Fort Loudon.

There are many recreational opportunities at the park, including beach swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, boating and more. There is a concession stand where guests can purchase meals, snacks, drinks, and ice cream. The main feature of the park is the beautiful 42 acre lake.

Buchanan State Forest surrounds the park, providing additional options for recreation and natural beauty in all seasons.

The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset. Day use areas close at dusk.

Getting Started

Heading North on Aughwick Road, the park is located on the left just before the intersection with Stumpy Lane. The lake is visible from the road. Parking is located on the lake side of Aughwick road, and the are additional lots on the other side of the road too.

When to Go

The park is most crowded during the summer months, when the beach is open, however the rest of the park is open year-round.
