Started out on the Batona trail (pretty well traveled), then veered off at mile marker 30 to an unmarked, yet very obviously traveled trail, albeit much less traveled.
Some rolling terrain (+/- 60 feet in elevation) and varied levels of underbrush adjacent to the trail.
Note: this was out and back trek with only the out half being recorded (phone’s battery was running low. Round trip time was 2hrs 30 min. Could have gone further out. Very quiet and serene. 🍑🐻✅

Great trail for a day hike. Saw a lot of deer sign and a significant number of bird sightings including a Tohee. Went 4.5 miles than had to return to our vehicle.

Its a nice hike its mostly dirt roads a little bit of it is trails. I thought it was an easy hike.

The first half of the white trail is very scenic with the lake. The second half is in the woods and hilly.

This is the red trail starting at the left of parking lot. When you get to the washed out part and can’t cross you have to take the green trail back it’s a three mile hike

This trail is perfect for people who like to explore local hiking tails. Forest rangers do a great job maintaining the trail. There are maps at the trail head and markers guide the way. I will come back again to check out the fall foliage.
