This trail system is a nice starter trail. As you advance in pace and stamina it is very easy to add on other pieces of this trail system to extend your mileage on your hike. Some of the trails are gated off so no vehicle traffic other than forestry service can get through. Much of this trail system goes by ponds and some parts run along and above the Millers river up thorough the BirchHill dam

Nice to hike even though you get the occasional vehicle on the main trails. These are closed on off season to traffic which makes it safer

The trail is mostly closed road that go through parts of New Boston, Ma which was taken over by Army Corps of Engineeers to help build and manage the Millers river via the Birch Hill dam.
