Calvin and Sophia Ferguson Forest Preserve is a nature reserve in Northern Illinois. This park features around 4 miles of trails looping through a wetland nature reserve. Part of the trail follows and old railroad bed.
There is a small parking lot North of the park, off of W Winslow Road. There is a smaller dirt pull-off at the Southeastern corner of the park off of Mitchell St.
When to Go
Fall and spring are the best times to visit. The park is open during the summer, but mosquitoes and flooding may affect the experience.
Allowed on-leash. Relatively flat and grassy trails make it good for dog walking.
