Nice shaded trail, but traffic on Hwy 285 is frequent and loud.

The first two miles run parallel to a highway so you hear cars. Throughout the trail I saw three birds, of two different varieties, two cool mushrooms and one cool tree formation. So yeah I didn’t exactly become one with nature. But, the trail is well marked and well maintained. Cell phone reception is limited. It’s a lackluster but safe and easy trail that runs 7.5 miles one way. You could do worse.

This is a great hike to get ready for Elk season in Colorado. Reid and I both had a 20lb pack. Kayla and Kona accompanied us and loved mullet creek at our half way break point.

Nice soft trail run Some of it turned into dirt road but got on the trail near the lake. I did a loop of this trail run. 2.6 miles so I did 5.2 miles total.

Didn’t know about this trail until I discovered it. Nice loop and a couple of trails to choose, long or short!
