Overview

Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge is a protected area in Colorado. It is a beautiful prairie-grass preserve with close-in views of the Flatirons, Longs Peak, and Arapahoe Pass behind that. A great winter walk or run on miles of smooth, wide trails. Horses, bikes, and hikers allowed. NO DOGS.

Getting Started

There are several entry points but the main parking area and entry is on CO-128/ W 120th Ave in Broomfield. There is a TH sign with area history. No restrooms.

When to Go

This would be a great walk anytime when the sun is not too intense or windy. It makes an excellent winter walk on a clear day.
