This trail will take you down to Silver King Creek. There was a fire 6 years ago and the trail has not been maintained so there are parts you have to do you best to find the trail. If you are looking for solitude this is the trail for you. I have been up and down this trail 3 times and have never seen another person. Silver King has lots of small rainbow trout that are more than willing to take a dry fly. Largest I caught was 12”.

Great for solitude, not the most scenic in the area, but still a welcome escape from the city.

Great hunting, apparently, if not for the absence of deer. Plenty of hunters though! Not me. The route I took was missing a trail possibly a third of the way, particularly Whitecliff trail and silver creek trail I believe. Still, absolutely beautiful. Whitecliff lake is stunning, and Llewelyn Falls was quite pleasant. Furthermore, although the trail was gone for much of it, the actual hiking was fun.

Loop from Stanislaus Meadow to Heiser Lake and Mosquito Lakes. Can be started at Mosquito Lakes trailhead or extended to include Bull Run Lake. Sometimes hard to find the trail on the granite sections.

Scenic 5 mile hike with moderate elevation changes. Meadows and open forests. Asa Lake is more of a pond.
