I’ve both backpacked and dayhiked granite tors. Beautiful and challenging. Lots of bears, though.

A great place for a hike in a forest and mountainside in the Chena River State Recreation Area. Easy to find from highway. Found enough places to park even on an early Sunday afternoon.
$5 daily fee was required.
The rest of this review I’d recommend visiting the state park web site for trail information and such. Definitely plan on 3 hours to walk the entire loop and make points to stop and savor the views :-)
