Best hike ever! It was one of the most scenic routes that I could take in the Khumbu region even though it works you quite a bit because it climbs and descends steeply and over stone steps many times. Even so you are always hugging the mountain and you have beautiful views in front of you and behind, like Ama Dablam, Lhotse and towards Namche. Gorgeous and no tour groups! Yay!

Renjo Lake is insanely beautiful and a great swim with very easy entry and exit. The well built trail goes past many large flat rocks perfect for sun and drying off. Please pick up plastic and trash, I was up there today and cleaned up a lot of debris. It’s perfectly clean now. Enjoy. It’s not too cold after about a minute. Then easy to stay a lot longer. Stay near shore. It’s spooky to be out in the middle of a large cold lake without floatation. Not fun!

I was trying to make it to the three lakes under the glacier, however the weather was foggy and light rain. Was 350 meters from the first lake and could not see it. The trail is fairly visible and lots of stone piles to guide your way. It gets rocky were you have to go west and need to be cautious. Unable to see the lakes; fog.
