Most of the hike is through rich mixed growth forest. The mountain slope may have wildflowers but they were dry by the time we did the hike. There are okay views to the west along the way up to the summit. There is a bench at the summit with views to the north and east as trees block a 360 panorama. OK, not spectacular.

Challenging to find the trailhead, “swimming” through slide alder overgrown road, never made it to the volcanoes. But a few basalt outcrops along the road.

Awesome runs in steep trees areas with open areas. Steeper than I have felt comfortable with in the past.
