Overview

This is a difficult one way trail in Inyo National Forest.

This trail goes by Agnew Meadows and Olaine Lake.

Getting Started

To access the trail head, use the Devil's Post Pile road near Mammoth Mountain. The road is closed in October for the winter and the road opening in summer will vary due to snow pack or road conditions. A shuttle will be necessary to enter the Devil's Post Pile National Monument. Fee is required to enter monument area. Visit nps.gov for more information on fees and shuttle.

Taking Children

This is a tough hike for children under 10, not recommended unless your child is used to hiking trails like this. I rate this a 2 for children.

This is a beautiful hike, but mosquitos are hatching so be prepared and have proper protection ( head net, deet, ect). There is some snow around 10000 ft. and the trail will be wet in areas.
