Overview

This is a moderate trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway that features a waterfall.

This trail goes by Crabtree Falls, Upper Crabtree Falls, and Crabtree Falls Campground.

You'll hear the impressive Crabtree Falls before you see it from the viewing platform. The trail is well-marked and the views are well worth the hike.

Getting Started

There's a large parking area off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Crabtree Meadows Campground. The trailhead begins here and points in the direction of the falls.

Taking Children

Use caution around the waterfall as many of the rocks are slippery. After a rain, the stairs heading toward the falls an be slick as well. It is a short hike that can be managed by both children and dogs.

The waterfall is amazing. The sign at the trailhead says strenuous. Don’t take that lightly.
