Newton Bald Trail
Newton Bald in and out. Slept at Deep Creek TH. Just me. When I drove out there was a red Transit van parked at the picnic area bathrooms. And it was covered by rhe worlds largest silver tarp. Of course there was a LEO Ranger parked there an walking around.
Warm going up. Nice breeze on the ridge above 4k ft. Slow going, 2.3 MPH to Newton bald, 5050 ft, 2850 ft gain, 2:16 total.
6.0 miles, 2900 ft gain to junction, 2.4 MPH, 4940 elevation, 2:32 total in.
Saw two deer 🦌 on the ridge at 4900 ft on the way out. No other hikers.
12.05 miles, 3000 ft gain.
